Trekking/rappelling waterfalls in Dominican Republic
Looking for things to do in Santo Domingo? This hike/rappel trip is for you. Adventure and adrenaline Difficulty level: HIGH. You have to be decently in shape. Rappel and swimming are mandatory (no experience required/don't need to know how to swim). We meet at 8am and take a 2-hour road trip to get to the town,and meet the rappel experts. Then we stretch out, and begin the journey going uphill and then downhill towards the stream. We hike upstream to see La Culebra waterfall, and do a light rappel to practice; and then downstream to Tabernacle Thundering Waterfall (yes, my other experience). You can do a guided or free rappel down this 25-meter waterfall, this is the highlight of the experience. Then we hike downstream through some swimming wholes, jumps and slides until the end. Then we change clothes (there's no dressing room. We don't get wet to the car). Finally, we go back to have lunch, and get back to Santo Domingo happy at 5pm

From Santo Domingo: Saona Island For Small Group Catamaran
We will pick you in our meeting point in the colonial area to set off for Bayahibe. Once there, we'll get on a boat heading to Saona Island and, halfway there, we'll make a short stop at a place called Blue Lagoon. On this sandbar in the middle of the water, you will have 40 minutes to relax. Also, not far away, we will see a sea star sanctuary in the middle of the Caribbean Sea. They come in all colors! Then we will finally arrive at Saona Island, where you will enjoy two hours and 45 minutes of free time to investigate this tropical paradise. Coral reefs and extensive beaches full of coconut trees and fine golden sand are waiting for you. At 1:00 p.m., we will meet at Palmera Turístico beach to recharge our batteries with a buffet lunch where you can eat pasta, salads, and rice. Enjoy! Afterwards, we will board a catamaran to make the way back while we have fun with the entertainers, music, an open bar of soft drinks and a very festive atmosphere.

You can expect to cook for about 1-2 hours before enjoying the meal with Rossy at her dining table. Rossy mixes up the menu so you can get anything from asopao (a rice-based soup), mangu (mashed plantains), arroz con pollo (one-pot chicken and rice), habichuelas (beans) and platano frito (fried plantains). End the meal with homemade dulce de leche or dulce de coco and coffee. Rossy is passionate about nature, people, reading, photography, art, dance, and growing orchids. She loves being a host and teaching other people about Dominican culture and the country's cuisine. Since restaurants in the city rarely have Dominican food, Rossy loves to serve it to her guests to introduce them to the delicious local dishes!
