This unforgettable day tour departs Galway at 9:00 AM, travelling by coach along the scenic Wild Atlantic Way and through the rocky limestone landscape of the Burren to the charming village of Doolin. From there, take the express ferry to Inisheer, the smallest and most traditional of the Aran Islands. Explore a 10th-century castle ruin, a sunken church, a shipwreck, and a peaceful beach. Walk the island’s quiet boreens or rent a bike or pony & trap for a more immersive experience (extra cost). After your island adventure, the ferry returns to Doolin and continues with a spectacular cruise beneath the towering Cliffs of Moher, a truly unique view of one of Ireland’s most iconic natural landmarks. Prefer not to cruise? You can disembark at Doolin Pier and wait for the group. Next, enjoy a traditional Irish pub meal (not included), then spend an hour exploring the top of the Cliffs and admire the vista. Driving along the coast of Clare, witness the power of the Atlantic Ocean as it battles the coastline. Board the ferry in Doolin for Inisheer, the smallest and nearest of the Gaeltacht Aran Islands. Keep an eye out for local bottlenose dolphins that occasionally follow the ferry. On Inisheer, explore ancient castles, churches, narrow lanes, stone walls and deserted white sand beaches. The return ferry takes you on a guided scenic cruise beneath the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. Departing Galway, your local driver guide heads to the western coastline’s famous touring route-the Wild Atlantic Way, travelling past harbours, working farms, medieval ruins, 16th-century tower houses and stone churches. Our 1st stop is the medieval Dunguaire Castle, then onto the glacio-karst landscape of the Burren, passing the 12th century Cistercian Corcomroe Abbey. Following the Wild Atlantic way, we start to see the 3 Aran Islands. Onto Doolin pier for a photo stop and a chance to feel the wild Atlantic wind in your face. Then time for lunch at Doolin Hotel-try their delicious local sea food dishes! Arriving at the Cliffs of Moher, take a stroll along the summit of the Cliffs and witness the spectacular views of huge ocean and sky. We return to Galway via Lisdoonvarna, famous for its annual match making festival.
