Hike : Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo - Private Guided
We start with the pick-up at your accommodation, following towards Pico do Areeiro, where we will have the opportunity to watch the sun rise over the mountains of Madeira, if the weather allows. Then we begin the walk along one of the island’s most iconic trails, crossing deep valleys, sharp peaks and the imposing central mountainous massive, always accompanied by stunning views. Along the way, the island’s fauna, endemic flora and history will always be present, making this experience even richer and more authentic. The great goal will be to reach the peak of Pico Ruivo, the highest point of Madeira, a conquest rewarded by absolutely unique panoramas. Pico Ruivo Sunrise - SMALL GROUP
The activity starts with an early pick up and a transfer to Achada do Teixeira. From there we start a 45 minutes walk to Pico Ruivo. In plain dark, using a headlight, we absorbe the dazzling sounds of the night at the mountains. Once at Pico Ruivo we attend the amazing sunrise ever... After the sunrise we do the same way back but this time we will have the sun as a guide and the views will be amazing. After the Hike we will show you some view points. Pico Ruivo Sunrise Hike and 4x4 Island Tour from Funchal
Enjoy the beautiful Madeira Sunrise from the highest Madeira peak / mountain, Pico Ruivo at 1862 meters, (6,106 ft) high, and provides some of the most incredible views of the island from coast to coast. We recommend to bring warm clothing for extreme cold conditions, and a rain coat (just in case). We pick you at the hotel around 4h00am and take you to Achada do Teixeira. Then, it starts the adventure, hicking around 1 hour to the highest Madeira Peak with our certified Mountain Guides to the top, count down and wait for the beautiful colours of the sunrise. Our guide will provide some snackes and water, and then back again for a sightseeing tour in our open roof 4x4 vehicle. We'll stop at Santana city to look around and visit the traditional tatched houses and breakfast time. Continue the tour discovering other places hidden using the old / cubblestone roads. This will be one of the best tours in Madeira.
